While Tom Hoch was trying to clear up some glitches in the Zoom system, Dan Rodriguez, our illustrious President, asked him "What time is it Tom?" It was 7:00 and time to start the meeting. Tom Kramis read the invocation and lead us in the Pledge. Dan, once again thanked all those responsible for the meeting including Tom Hoch, Larry Pulaski, and Steve Avery for the technical assistance, Chris Dunphy for the refreshments, Noel Hasselgren for cashiering and Tom Kramis for doing such an excellent job of checking temperatures.
The Prez said that Zoom simulcast would be phased out starting with the May 7 meeting. Hopefully the kitchen will also be in operation by then and we can start back to our "regular" meetings. Dan said that next week's meeting would be dedicated to distributing information (and tickets) for the raffle to be held later this year.

Your Email Client Identifies ClubRunner Mail as Spam
Most email inboxes feature a Spam or Junk mail folder. These are used to hold messages the email system identifies as unwanted ads. If your ClubRunner messages are being identified as spam, you will most likely be able to find them within the Spam or Junk mail folder. Your email client may have automatically identified ClubRunner mail as spam. It is also possible that you may have inadvertently identified a ClubRunner mail as spam, causing all future ClubRunner emails to be sent to the spam folder.
In order to fix this, you will need to add mailservice@clubrunner.ca and @clubrunner.email to your email’s safe sender or contact list. Once this is done, emails and bulletins should be received properly. The procedure varies according to the email client you are using. ey have done this they can notify me and I can unblock them.
Joe Marci announced that some TJ students had not completed all the material to apply for the 5 Sullivan Scholarships available, that judging would be delayed until next (after the regular meeting) and that he could use a couple of more guys to read the applications. See Joe if interested
Joe also announced that the first fund raiser for Junior Golf will be held at Saddle Rock Golf Course on Tuesday, May 18. It will be a scramble beginning at 8:a.m. Joe is looking for at least one more foursome. If you don't have your own, contact Joe and maybe he can put one together. (303-847-7884).

It has been a LONG YEAR, WINTER, BUT OUR APRIL 16TH WAS A GREAT START FOR A NEW YEAR! I am working on recovering from kidney failure and it was great to be back at our regular in person meetings, I hope to attend more!!!

Club Raffle Committee members Phil Perington, Chris Dunphy and Dan Rodriguez plus volunteer Tom Kramis met following the meeting and set the final raffle ticket design to be distributed at next weeks meeting. Tom Mauro reported he wants 8tickets, making the pre-order number now 24. To recap, there will be a $5,000 payout consisting of 1st place winner for $3,000, 2nd place winner for $1,000 and 10 3rd place winners for $100 each.
The Drawing will be conducted on August 20th at 7:30 am at the American Legion Hall. Winners do not need be present to win. Each member is asked to sell 4 tickets towards our goal of $10,000. All sales will be cash or check. This is our inaugural Raffle and everyone is encouraged to participate. Let’s Go Optimists!
Timothy O'Brien, City Auditor for the City of Denver was our speaker this morning. Due to some technical difficulties with Zoom he was not able to show his Powerpoint slides, but did an admirable job of explaining the ins and outs of the City Auditors Office.
Tim has more than 40 years of auditing and accounting experience. Auditor O’Brien strives to bring greater clarity, transparency, and accountability to Denver’s City government for its residents. Elected as the Denver Auditor in 2015, Timothy O’Brien is distinguished from his predecessors by being an actual professional auditor. He is a licensed Certified Professional Accountant and holds the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Global Management Accountant. Tim has a B.S.B.A. (Accounting Major) from Loyola University-Chicago and an M.B.A. from University of Colorado.

Audit Services - Internal auditing focuses on identifying risks that threaten the ability of an organization to accomplish its mission. The Auditor’s Office conducts independent audits of city agencies to help mitigate identified risks in order to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, reduce costs, and improve the quality of services. The results of conducted audits are communicated through formal audit reports, which communicate findings and recommendations for improvement to the audited agency, oversight officials, and the public. Additionally, the Auditor’s Office conducts follow-up work to verify that corrective actions have been taken to address findings, and publishes follow-up reports.
Denver Labor - Denver Labor, headed by Jeff Garcia promotes lawful employment and wage compliance while providing exceptional labor, wage, and hourly enforcement. Denver Labor audits 100% of certified payrolls and investigates 100% of wage complaints. Denver Labor’s goal is to protect Denver’s employers and employees and ensure everyone is paid according to the law. We work to foster community relationships with businesses and labor organizations, and educate our diverse community on labor issues. Mr. O'Brien said that his office protects both employees and contractors and that one of the biggest problems during his tenure has been DIA. He told several stories of how his office has worked get fair payment for contractors and to ensure that all employees within the city of Denver are paid the minimum wage.
