With Friday's opening of this year's Tree Lot just a few days away, we want to eliminate any confusion or misunderstandings concerning the application of the new flyer discount and the continuation of the Tree Lot Volunteer discount for club members who work shifts at the lot.
First, any customer who purchases a Christmas tree AND buys EITHER a Wreath (any size or style) or AT LEAST 12 feet of garland, AND presents one of our flyers, either a printed flyer or a photo of one on their cell phone, receives a $10 discount on their total purchase.
CASHIERS NOTE: When entering such as transaction, enter the tree purchase, then the wreath or garland purchase, then apply the discount. Each is a separate step.
ALL NOTE: The discount is 10 DOLLARS--NOT 10 PERCENT OF THE TOTAL SALE.
Second, If customers without a flyer ask why they can't have the $10 discount, too, Tom's instructions are to grant them the discount. Customers who do not seek it should be charged full price.
Third, regarding the member volunteer discount, Tom says the practice of granting a 50% discount on a tree as a reward for those who work at least 15 hours (typically five three-hour shifts) at the lot remains in effect.
