Mario Sani and Mark Metevia came equipped with bright eyes and warm smiles, creating a welcoming environment to greet the men of Monaco South on Friday, February 3rd, 2023.

All Rise! President Larry Pulaski asked Bob Avery to begin our meeting with an invocation.  Bob shared a theme on thinking only of the best, and to resist the urges to hold grudges against anyone.  He then led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

DRAWING
A drawing was had!  The 9 of Spades was this week’s magic card.  Cups O’ Cash went to:

Jack Kleinheksel (twice!)
Allan Malask
Bryce Slaby
Tom Kramis
Craig Eley
Bill Morgan and Jim Easton pulled from the deck and came up empty.  Phil Perington was sporting his nametag at the right time, and with his one good appendage drew from the deck, but alas came up short-handed.  And so the pot thickens.

Randy Bruns sent us out into our Friday and weekend by leading the recitation of the Optimist Creed:  Promise Yourself, to be so strong…

From Phil Perington: What do you call Christmas wreaths made out of $100 bills?

T H E O P T I M I S T C R E E D — Promise Yourself . . . To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for
anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
