I wanted to inform you of Bob's passing. He left to go find Carolyn on 8/24/2022.
There will at some point be a small family ceremony for the interment of his and my mother's ashes at St. Mary's Cathedral in Colorado Springs. Thank you for being a good friend to him,
Lara Thoman
Editor's Note: Bob was a Past Governor of the Colorado/Wyoming District and a good friend of MSOC. He will be missed!

A great men's room photo
Another great day in Colorado. Greeters Josh Lipuma and George Buzick were all smiles. as they welcomed Jack Kleinheksel and Al Gapuzan. Welcome to Ron Gustas, who has been faithfully attending meetings by Zoom for a few months but decided to join us in person today. Welcome back to Greg Hurd, who spent a few days in Canada. President Tom Kramis called on Tom Overton to read the invocation for Labor Day, asking for protection for all those who work in dangerous jobs.
GUEST
Our guest today was Pete Callahan, who came to us as a result of his past involvement with our Super Citizen program and having been given a "free breakfast card at the South by Southeast celebration.
Robert Wardlaw announced that Super Citizen programs were already scheduled for many of our schools and asked that those club members who were representatives of schools contact him with scheduled events.
Andy Towt reminded us that The OI Foundation provided all the funds for
scholarship programs, like Oratorical Contest, Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Essay; and that the Dime-A-Day program was an easy way to contribute to the Foundation.
Ron Gustas announced that the JDRF 2022 Type 1 Diabetes One Walk will be held in person at the Jeffco County Fairgrounds (15200 W 6th Ave Frontage Rd, Golden)

SPEAKER
Our speaker today was Heidi Ganahl. Heidi, who is currently a Regent of the University of Colorado and the Republican candidate for Governor of the State of Colorado, is a self pronounced entrepreneur. Her main claim to fame is the development and franchising "Camp Bow Wow", a doggie day care concept. Heidi has also lived through some trying times, having lost her first husband in a plane crash and having a brain tumor, which was successfully removed.
In spite of these events, Heidi remains optimistic for her future, that of her family (including our friend Jason, The Pit Master and owner of GQUEBBQ) and the State of Colorado, if she wins the Governor's seat. If elected,Heidi promises to fight for a zero Colorado State income tax and generally concentrate on "Crime, Kids, and Cost of Living. She admits to "libertarian leaning" and thinks current state government is over staffed. She answered a number of questions, which were caught on video. You can learn more about Heidi and her campaign at her website, which is http://HeidiForGov.com
Ron Gustas came out of the Zoom box and drew the nine of diamonds to win the meager $20 pot. Which left only cups of money for those who followed, including Al Gapuzan, Phil Perington, Ken Jeung, Dan Rodriguez and Carl Brown
Meetings will be held at the American Legion Hall 5400 E Yale Ave. While there be no two way communication, you may observe (and listen to) the meeting on Zoom
OCMS President Tom Kramis is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting
PLEASE NOTE: All Friday meetings will be simulcast on Zoom in “listen and watch only” mode. All members are encouraged to attend the live meeting when possible.

T H E O P T I M I S T C R E E D — Promise Yourself . . . To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for
anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
