PICTURE DAY AT THE LEGION HALL
There were no greeters for this beautiful 100% Attendance Day, so we all greeted each other. Since today was a camaraderie day, there was an opportunity to get together and share what's happening. It was reported that Mike White recently had back surgery and that Don Thomson finally had his hip replacement. Speedy recovery to both. Hope to see you soon! In the absence of President Tom Kramis, Larry Pulaski, President-Elect, called the meeting to order and asked Bill Morgan to read the invocation.
GUEST
Our guest today was Tom Yagley, Sr. Vice Commander, Americanism, National Security & Membership Chairman for the American Legion Post #1. Tom explained that our organizations are similar in promoting patriotism and good citizenship and invited those Veterans with a DD214(indicating they had an Honorable Discharge) were welcome to Join the Legion. Tom also indicated that there was a possibility that he might join our club.
MEMBER NEWS It was good to see John Young, a charter member of our club, Shown here with Pat Bush and Craig Eley. Thanks to Claire for sharing him with us.
Also in the house was Perry Allen, Dime-a-Day rep extraordinaire, who shared that he was, at long last, retiring and would be moving to Iowa. There were some good-natured comments about why anyone would voluntarily move to Iowa, but we all wish Perry the best. (There is always Zoom!)
GREETERS PROTOCOL
Ever on the watch for opportunities to increase membership, Frank Middleton suggests the following protocol for greeter: If someone visits our meeting, check to see if they are the guest of a specific member. If they are not, then:
DROP, STOP being a greeter
Introduce the guest to lots of members
Buy the guest breakfast
Stay with them for the complete hour
Get them a membership application
Treat them as your best friend
See what they like about the meeting
Invite them back for the next meeting
Accept their application to join
POLITICS
After Dan Rodriguez announced that, in spite of all his efforts to give both sides an opportunity to present their candidate, Jarod Polis, Democratic Party candidate for Governor, will not address our club and that Senator Bennet has chosen not to campaign along the Front Range. In response, Tom Mauro, who has an avid interest in politics, andPhil Perington, who is also is active in the political realm bemoaned the fact that candidates appear not to be interested in promoting themselves these days, perhaps because polls indicate they don't have to.
DRAWING
With only 4 cards left to draw from, you would thing that someone would draw the four of clubs and win the $20 pot. But NOOO! Luck Phil Perington, once again gave his opportunity to Russ Paul to win, but Russ was not so lucky today. Vaughn Kendall also tried his luck, but to no avail. Should be an easy win next week.

T H E O P T I M I S T C R E E D — Promise Yourself . . . To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for
anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
