Bryce Slaby, who rents a building to our Guest organization and became familiar with their considerate and meaningful program introduces Zaharia Hilentzaris and Bertha Gomez-Zapata, speaking on behalf of WELLPOWER Resource Center. WELLPOWER has been providing outreach and cognitive mental health services for 30 years to communities in the Denver area. The organization consists of 15 residential centers and 25 resource centers (hard goods and active services). Their mission is “Enriching lives and empowering a loving attitude.” People actually recover from mental care issues, and they are there to give support on all levels. WELLPOWER sticks to the basics by providing household goods, furniture, clothing, toys and dry goods including over the counter apothecary items and cosmetics.
Their National recognized Recovery Needs Level (RNL) instrument provides the most appropriate level of service available. Their wide range of programs and services address diverse needs through their staff and volunteers on a continual and daily basis, that includes:
Care-management for independent living
Special services to end the cycle of criminal involvement
Targeted Support to those living with HIV
Supported Services for education, employment, integrated health care issues, housing and after hours crisis situations.
WELLPOWER also conducts activities targeted to individual interests including Walking Groups, Bingo, Gratitude Classes, Wellness and Mindful Classes, Arts & Craft Classe, Yoga, Meditation and Aroma Therapy Classes and Market Day excursions to the Food bank of the Rockies.
The Homeless Community is in need of more WELLNESS style organizations. They are a Leader and proven force in the Community, and we are thankful for their presentation. We thank them for visiting our Club and sharing their story.
