MEMBERSHIP
President Tom reminded people that the Colorado/Wyoming District would give $50 to anyone who brought in 3 members for the year ending September 30. Tom also said that he personally would give $50 to any MSOC member who brought in two members between August 1 and September 30.  Frank Middleton declared September 9 as Members Guest Day. Everyone should invite someone to the meeting that Friday. (Though asked by Tom Hoch, Frank had no comment on King Soopers, today.)
ANNUAL CELEBRATION AND INSTALLATION
Immediate Past President Dan Rodriguez reminded us that time is growing short to make reservations for this gala event. Greg Young has programmed on-line purchase of tickets at $35, so you can sign up from the comfort of your own home. Put Noon, Saturday, September 17 on your calendar and join us in recognizing this year's achievements and installing next year's officers. Always a great time and Dan has put together an awesome program. Go to website: http://www.monacosouth.org to purchase lunch tickets. (Guests are welcome!)

DRAWING
Yes, we had a drawing. In addition to the regular prizes, we had drawings for some valuable silver coins from the collection of Phil Perington, who is a long-time collector. Since the big pot was a mere $30 and because many more tickets were sold, thus increasing the amount in each cup-o-money; everyone went for cups, including Pat Bush, Robert Duvall, Paul Stratton, Bill Litchfield, Mark Metevia and Tom Glazier: which forced the last two numbers to draw, but neither Bob Avery nor Robert Duvall could draw the Three of Hearts, so next week's pot will be $40.  In addition, Robert Duvall, Dan Rodriguez, Greg Holt, John Wachter and George Buzick cashed in on the silver dollars provided by Phil

T H E O P T I M I S T C R E E D — Promise Yourself . . . To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for
anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
