I just received this email from Linda Miller. Hug your family a little tighter today.
From Linda:
The COVID virus had caused significant and irreparable damage to Gary lungs preventing him from absorbing oxygen. After doing a chest x-ray the Doctor told us that there was a very slim chance that he would survive. If he were to survive it would be for a short time with a very poor quality of life. We were with him as he peacefully passed about 8:30 pm last night. As you can understand we’ve not had time to think or plan next steps. There will be a service but with COVID we’re not sure when and what that might look like. We’ll be in touch.
He loved and believed in what the club is doing for kids. He especially loved the tree lot and was a Christmas junkie. I’m not sure when the next super citizen program is planned for MPB but obviously a new contact will need to be found. Greg, I know you’re not meeting in person at this time. I’ll get the “box” to you in the weeks ahead but please reach out if you need it sooner.
Thank you for your friendship, prayers and concern for him and the family. We would ask that you share, as you feel appropriate.

T H E O P T I M I S T C R E E D — Promise Yourself . . . To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for
anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
Due to Covid-19 protocol Friday meetings will be held on Zoom only until further notice.
