Perennial Greeter Al Gapuzan and his sidekick Bill Litchfield greet Abigail Nicholas, Past Governor Colorado/Wyoming District, wife of Kent Gloor and all around good person!  Due to the lack of kitchen staff, a "continental breakfast"(rolls, cofee, juice) was available this morning. Impatient Tom Hoch called the meeting to order (30 seconds past 7:00 a.m.) and Tom Glazier gave the invocation and led us in the Pledge.

SPEAKER
Mark Metevia Introduced our speaker for the day, who is already known by almost everybody.  Abigail Nicholas was here today in her capacity as "District Vitality Chair". Abigail talked about a new opportunity for assisting development of new Optimist clubs throughout the World by becoming an "International Sponsor".
In this program a sponsor club develops an electronic relationship with a club from a foreign country. The club would be supplied by the Optimist International Strategic Growth Group and the responsibility of the sponsoring club would be to provide communications and support to the foreign club.
Abigail explained that the Tamarac Optimist Club is currently participating by sponsoring a club in Aman Jordan, and that the Middle East is currently a target for establishing new Optimist clubs.
Cost for sponsoring a club would be $225 each year for 3 years. New Club Building credit would be awarded. Since the program is currently in the inception stage, not all details are available, but Abigail would be our liaison, if we choose to go forward with the program. The program will be considered by the MSOC Board at their next monthly meeting. Thanks to Abigail for the information!

T H E O P T I M I S T C R E E D — Promise Yourself . . . To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for
anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
